The Foundation for Tackling Vehicle Crime was founded in the summer of 1997 by 10 partners, both public and private.
The partners are: the ministries of Justice, Transport, the Police, the national prosecution authority, the association of insurers, the car branch, the consumers association for mobility (ANWB), the Dutch Employers Association on Transport and Logistics (TLN) and Car Recycling the Netherlands (ARN).
The foundation has its own executive agency (program bureau) which co-ordinates and executes the projects as formulated in a long term program.
The targets of the foundation are: to reduce vehicle crime (i.c. theft of and fraud) by means of prevention and by supporting the public partners in investigations.
