The Vehicle Crime Reduction Organizations in The Netherlands (AVc), South Africa (BAC) and Australia (NMVTRC) have developed a “multi-national reference for the development of national standards for microdot-based whole of vehicle marking”. The document specifies minimum performance criteria for microdots and their associated distribution procedures. The joint VCRO objective is to facilitate a consistent approach to the development of microdot-based vehicle marking systems that are designed to facilitate forensic investigation of vehicle theft and thereby impede the activities of criminals attempting to deal in stolen vehicles or components.
